Why The RCH?

We know just how special The RCH really is! To show you we have included below some wonderful feedback that we have received from previous guests so you can see exactly what they thought of their time with us.

“Night at The Royal Crescent”

We travelled from Essex in our 55 year old classic Triumph Spitfire to stay here for one night. We was met at the kerb side by the concierge to park our car in a secure area. We had a fantastic room with an amazing bathroom overlooking the gardens. We had a truly scrumptious meal in the restaurant and our waiter Luke was very knowledgeable of the food and wine on the menu. He was very friendly and didn’t mind our questions.
We had breakfast there in the morning and again was blown away by the quality of the food. We also managed to squeeze in a dip in the spas swimming pool and hot tub before we left. Honestly can not fault this hotel and the service was exceptional and cannot wait to go there again.

“Amazing stay”

The hotel, the grounds and room itself are stunning. We wished we had booked a longer stay. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly.
The room was spacious, relaxing and very clean. The spa treatments were out of this world.and the breakfast was delicious. We will back again for sure.

“Like coming home”

We have stayed in a lot of Hotels in Bath over the last twenty six years and this is one of the very best and has been our hotel of choice for the last ten or more years. Okay, it is certainly not cheap but that means it is always a special occasion so never to taken for granted and the staff are wonderful and make us feel like long lost friends returning home every time we visit.

“Luxury break at the fab Royal Crescent”

A stunning property that has got a the wow-factor all the way through and is a real bucket list treat. Spend a night or two and enjoy the sumptuous breakfasts and thrill of walking through the doors of a great British landmark. Lives up to all expectations but the biggest mystery is where the cars are kept. They magically reappear on departure and the bags are beautifully packed in the boot. All the staff deserve five stars too.

“Everything we had hoped for”

A two night stay in the Gainsborough Room was excellent. Really comfortable suite with a private outside sitting area. Never seen a hotel with so many staff all of whom were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The training in this hotel must be off the highest order. Situated in an iconic area this must be regarded as the best place to stay in Bath. Breakfasts were amazing. We did not eat dinner here as they were operating a reduced menu due to COVID issues but we are sure they would be equally good. Valet parking was worth paying for as Bath is incredibly difficult to park in. Would love to come back to this hotel again.

“Still my favourite hotel in the world”

I hadn’t visited Bath in over a decade but returning to the Royal Crescent was like coming home. The hotel itself is stunning, service friendly and flawless. Nothing is too much trouble. Our suite was beautiful, spacious and a joy to stay in for a few days. I love the small touches like classic dm playing as we entered. From the valet parking through checking in to dinner in the Dower house and massages in the spa, there is nothing this hotel could do to improve. It is wonderful. You genuinely get what you pay for

“Superb Break”

Everything about this hotel is Five Star, from the moment you pull up outside in your car to the moment you leave. Staff are helpfull friendly and willing to assist in any way and everything is dealt with in a calm manner. Walking through from reception into the beautiful gardens was something unexpected, a stunning oasis to sit and relax. We were lucky enough to be upgraded which made the whole experience superb. It may have been our first visit but certainly not our last.

“Great place to stay in Bath. Met all expectations.”

Beautiful hotel and a real experience that I will definitely repeat. My suite was very comfortable with superb air conditioning. Lots of space with good standard of facilities. Great attention from staff throughout stay. Attention before and during stay was first class.

“Beckford Suite treat”

My wife and I had a fabulous two night stay at this wonderful hotel and enjoyed every moment. We arrived just before our lunch reservation, our luggage and car were dealt with in a professional and very friendly manner. We were shown to the drawing room at the front of the hotel, where we enjoyed a coffee and pot of tea. When we checked in, we were informed that we had been given a double upgrade to the Beckford Suite, the suite was lovely, well appointed, and had views of the city through the balustrade as it was on the top floor. The lunch was perfect, thank you for the complimentary glasses of champagne. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, on both mornings, excellent choices and friendly staff. The amazing garden was the perfect setting to enjoy our afternoon tea, and relax…

“Worth every penny”

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and very at home. No waiting around to check in, and our bags were taken up to the room for us. The room itself was beautiful, with a view over the gorgeous gardens, and everything was spotlessly clean.
We dined in the Dower House restaurant on both evenings, and the food was outstanding. The seven course taster menu in particular was excellent, and the Sommelier Jean-Marc was able to recommend some fabulous wines to go with our food..
We had stayed in another allegedly five star hotel the previous two nights, and there was simply no comparison. Whereas previously we had even had to order our drinks via an app, with human contact actively discouraged, the staff at the RCH are friendly, welcoming and professional, even with the current restrictions that Covid has imposed.
Simply the best hotel we have ever stayed in, and we can't wait to return.

“Wonderful place to stay”

A very pleasant hotel to stay at with wonderful facilities and caring and pleasant staff. The lovely grounds turned this beautiful city break into a country getaway, in which it was hard to believe that this hotel was located in a city, making it an ideal place to wind down and relax.

July 2021

“The perfect Minimoon”

This place ticked all the boxes for us after a hellish time had by all. We were supposed to be in Antigua for our Honeymoon but like everything, it wasn't to be so Bath it was. With our 4 month old baby in tow, we were checked in to the Beau Nash suite and from then on, fab service, amazing suite, great food and the loveliest surroundings. Well done to you all for making it special! Booked for my birthday in September and can't wait to go back.

July 2021

“Fantastic and pure heaven”

The hotel is a cut above all other 5 * hotels we stay in. The grounds are stunning and all the staff, front of house, restaurant and spa are all excellent. The hotel goes that extra mile from when you book, to your stay and after service. They are exceptional!

June 2021

“Everything and more....”

2 night stay - started well with a fabulous junior suite, overlooking stunning English garden. The staff were top notch from firstly spotting us pulling up outside, and coming to greet us as we parked, all the way through our stay, right until we left with out 'fully charged electric car' ready to set off home.

June 2021

“Beautiful hotel”

The staff that we met were all exceptional! From being met at the door by a wonderful man, who took our cases and parked the car, to the receptionists on checking out, our experiences with your staff were amazing. Food in the restaurant was amazing and the sommelier was very knowledgeable and very funny as were all the restaurant staff. Very professional but approachable and friendly. The views either from the hotel are beautiful. We overlooked the gardens, where we also had our breakfast on the lawns. Rooms are spotless and the beds are very comfortable. I must mention Justyna from the Spa, who gave me the most wonderful massage and facial, probably one of the best I've had. Thank you all for a fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel.

June 2021

“Superb weekend break!”

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms great, and the service is very good. The food and drink is also superb. The location is great, Bath city and sights are within easy walking distance. Highly recommend a weekend stay!

May 2021

Fabulous hotel in stunning location. Hotel staff could not be more professional, attentive and caring. Wonderful experience! We attended for a family wedding and everything was perfect, the wedding breakfast was delicious, the service was impeccable and the day was joyous!

“Wonderful experience. An excellent dog friendly hotel. Will definitely come back again!”

My golden retriever and I had a wonderful stay. Beautiful, comfortable and clean room. Impeccable service. Amazing signature treatment in the spa. Relaxing swimming pool. Fantastic afternoon tea. Great location.

"A timeless escape"

Our stay was wonderful! It allowed us to escape everyday life and get a real break! Sebastian and Mark’s efforts as well as the restaurant staff and cleaners led to an incredible stay in an enchanting environment. The Royal Crescent is a true gem of Bath!

January 2021

"10 out of 10"

I’ll start by saying this was the best nights sleep me and my husband have ever had in a hotel! From start to finish service was impeccable. The room was beautiful, bed super comfy. Spa lovely. Food in the bar area perfect for us and reasonable value. We stayed on a weekend night near Christmas so price was at the higher end but it felt worth it after a long year! Would highly recommend, all in all a blissful weekend. Thank you!

December 2020

“Elegant service , delightful experience”

Thank you to the hotel and spa staff for making our first Covid hotel stay , wonderful . Perfect luxury suite, super dog friendly, impeccable room service , delicious teas , flexible menus and a totally “can do” attitude to meeting our needs wherever possible . The spa covid checks removed all my concerns about treatments and the ambience at the spa was lovely - relaxed tranquil and peaceful , with excellent treatments . The massages were divine .
I cannot recommend this hotel enough and it’s worth every penny in my view .
The gardens were a hidden surprise and we felt treasured all the way . Thank you to the doormen and concierge for being “always available” to instantly help us out .

October 2020

“Luxury overnight stay”

There are hotels that claim to be top notch, luxury and those that just exude it. The Royal Crescent has the it factor that separates luxury from the number of stars a hotel has. The room we had was the most basic, but was very well appointed, just no view. Service was almost excellent. We were promised a call when the room was ready, which we didn't get but instead had a couple of free drinks. Breakfast was superb. Shame we only had time for one night, the garden would be a spectacular place to be in the summer months.

October 2020

This is, I think, my 5th time of staying here, so this will be short and sweet. For longer reviews, see the previous 4!! I love it here. Wonderful, polite and helpful staff, sumptuous bedrooms and stunning surroundings. Food is excellent. Even in the current climate, of covid-19, the quality of stay is not impaired. If you want luxury without the stuffiness, do come here.

October 2020

“Just perfect!

We stayed here for just one night as a belated 60th birthday treat postponed from June due to lockdown. We had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay possible. The hotel, location and standard of all rooms is just superb, but what made out stay really special was the 100% fantastic staff who were helpful, warm, welcoming and just the best we have encountered anywhere. Everyone from check-in, through to restaurant and spa staff and the housekeepers were just delightful and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend the massages at the spa and the fabulous (and very reasonable) evening tasting menu. Thank you to all of the staff - it was such a lovely stay. We will be back!

September 2020

“Bath - The Royal Crescent Hotel”

Amazing stay - truly exception. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food was exquisite and the rooms and spa very comfortable. The gardens were beautiful and the concierge was very helpful in arranging a private tour with a Blue Badge Tour Guide at short notice. A very special experience.

September 2020

“Incredible girls spa break!”

We had a wonderful mid-week stay at the Royal Crescent and made full use of the facilities. The hotel felt safe and clean with all the covid precautions, without compromising on luxury or service! The spa is divine and we made 4 different trips to it throughout our stay (the Clear and Cleanse Facial was our favourite!). We actually really enjoyed having to book and stick to an allocated 'pool time' as it meant the facilities were quieter. The room service was great - it came very promptly, hot and without any major price increase for room service which a lot of hotels get away with. Overall we would definitely go back for another spa break!

August 2020

"An amazing experience"

An amazing hotel in a stunning location. Our 4 day trip was worth every penny and the staff were very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be returning very soon. If you are thinking of staying in Bath this is the place to stay and it is only a short walk into the heart of Bath or you can go the other way and experience the beautiful wide open parks.

August 2020

"Great Service Under C-19"

We stayed here on the first day they're back open through C-19.

The staff were absolutely amazing as always and the concierge at front of house greeted me in the same friendly way as always before, he’s a great credit. Staff across the board were wearing face coverings which was reassuring and the pre-email asking what we’d like (as in contact or non contact) with staff was a step that was really impressive. Throughout our stay we felt safe and are meeting with Emma in the near future about an event as we were so impressed by the lengths to make sure guests are safe. Really looking forward to staying again

July 20

"Perfect Location To Pamper Yourself"

Our fourth stay met our expectations with courteous high quality service in a classy building in a beautiful location. If you are prepared to push the boat out to pay a bit extra, this hotel more than delivers the value would expect.

July 20

"Brilliant First Day Back To Service"

We arrived on the first day post-lockdown and were totally prepared for teething problems....there were none. The team were brilliant and we couldn't have anticipated a better stay. We had afternoon tea - delicious and can highly recommend. Our stay was brilliant as ever and had the best night's sleep I'd had in a long time!

July 20

"Slice of Perfection"

After lockdown we needed a treat & Royal Crescent certainly delivered! Gorgeous hotel, beautiful suite,, fabulous staff (honestly, this can’t be emphasised enough.. everyone we encountered were a dream) lovely gardens & very well made 🍸! Can’t wait to return!

“Another Fabulous Stay”

We visited on our wedding anniversary and had a fabulous time. Everything about our stay was perfect apart from the weather. Facilities are magnificent and staff service is tremendous. We live in Bath but appreciate “going away” for the luxury and we will definitely return.

March 20

“A Truly 5 Star Experience”

The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay 5 star. It was my partners 40th birthday and we were welcomed with a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival at the bar, the bar staff were great and even o

Outstanding hotel, outstanding location, outstanding service. Heart of the Royal Crescent, but once through the front door, an oasis of calm and privacy. Wonderful suite with views over Bath to the front, and a private garden to the rear of the hotel

March 20

“Valentines Night”

From the moment we arrived at this beautiful hotel we were treated impeccably. The staff and the hotel are amazing, we received a complimentary upgrade on our room too which was fantastic. The valentines meal was very enjoyable and the service was excellent, every member of staff here went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. We can't wait to return, thank you to you all for such a lovely time.

Feb 20

“Perfect Birthday Weekend”

Stayed here with my wife to celebrate her birthday.

From the moment you pull up outside to the moment you leave the staff cannot do enough for you without being on top of you. This is a sign of a top hotel.

We were given a complementary upgrade and found our room to be very generous and the bed was very comfortable.

We visited the Spa twice and it’s small setting was perfect and well equipped.

Bar staff were very attentive and made a perfect start to our evening before venturing into town for dinner.

Breakfast in the morning was delicious and had a very good selection.

Cannot recommend the Royal Crescent Hotel enough. We can’t wait to return and explore more of Bath.

Jan 20

“Excellent in Every Respect”

We stayed here on a special pre-christmas deal. Our room was a deluxe suite. Well we have stayed in suites in other hotels but this one really sets the standard. It had a view over the garden from the comfortable and spacious lounge. It also featured a work area with a toilet attached. A lobby area. A very generously sized bedroom and finally a bathroom. The furniture was of very good quality and the cleaning also to a very high standard. It was comfortable and well equipped.
We did experience a couple of minor problems (the outer door handle just turned without unlatching the door was one) but we were quickly released and the problem resolved.
The staff were without exception, friendly and very efficient.
You would have to be incredibly fastidious and critical to find fault with this accommodation. An excellent stay in every way.

“What a Wonder Hidden Place”

The Royal Crescent us not only a stunning place to live but also under no15/16 perhaps the best address in Bath to reside for some days. The house the wonderful back garden which leads to the spa and restaurant as well as the upstairs suites is just outstanding. Except for the Restaurant you feel like being in a:private home. Even the bar is like your private place it us definitely the home away from home. We have been upgraded to a:suite which was wonderfully decorated. Except for the bathroom where you couldn't find a place like a stool for your personal beauty case it was just great.
We went to the restaurant twice and can't complain about the food or the service. Breakfast was a cold buffet with a lot variety and cooked breakfast was freshly made on order. The valet service and concierge were all helpful as well as the reception. Needless to say that we hopefully will be back soon

Oct 19

We stayed for two nights at the RCH, it was perfect in every way. The reservations staff organised a beautiful arrangement of flowers with chocolates and Champagne for our arrival. The concierge team whisked away all our bags and delivered them to our room while the reception staff walked us through the hotel to explain the facilities and show us to our room. The attention to detail was amazing.
Afternoon tea, dinner, drinks at the bar and breakfast were all wonderful.
Thanks to all the staff who made our visit so special. We shall return.

June 19

“The beautiful Royal Crescent”

Couldn’t fault this amazing hotel whose heritage, style and service are second to know. If you are in Bath and want somewhere to stay as a very special and memorable treat, then this is the place.
Bath city centre is a short walk away and with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and the amazing Roman Baths. It’s win win.

May 2019

“Afternoon Tea”

Simply stunning location, the gardens are beautiful.
Excellent service from the moment you arrive, staff are really attentive but discreet
Excellent food - choice of savoury and sweet
Great choice of teas.
Will definitely return next time I am in Bath.

May 2019

“Always perfection”

Stayed here 6 times over 5 years and it really is just consistently good. Staff are a dream, food to die for and the setting, wow, just perfect. Phenomenal Georgian building in the best crescent in Bath! Quite cool seeing all the tourists out the front during the day from your window!
Recommend having a couples massage and also using the amazing spa, which always seems empty!
Breakfast is fab, full English is huge!
Shall always come back, ps room 14 over looks the crescent and is great value. We stayed once in the first floor master suite and it is huge! Massive ceilings and like an apartment, was a real treat.
In summary, stay here and you’ll see why it’s worth the cost.

May 2019

Magnificent hotel, standard & detail of service amazing with being snotty very professional but laid back feel.
Rooms very well appointed & luxury feel to every aspect from the bed linen to the decor.

Fantastic spa to relax & have a swim, steam, etc....

May 2019

“Very Lovely”

Our first stay here and hopefully not our last. A beautiful period collection of buildings with pool and spa, comfy drawing rooms and delightful bar. Room had a fantastic view and was extremely comfortable...particularly the bed. Top quality everything and all staff here are delightful. Superb breakfast. Thanks Royal Crescent ans see you soon.

May 2019

“Fabulous hotel”

From the General Manager who came up and introduced himself to us, the superb waiters, friendly reception staff through to the very accommodating chamber maid, the customer service was a delight to be on the receiving end of and was second to none. The accommodation was quirky and rather lovely. We ate from the fine dining menu which was incredible… It is well worth spending time sitting in the acre of hotel garden, there are many trees and so lots of birdsong which was really lovely. If you like period architecture and tasteful English classical decor then you'll love this hotel. It is traditional but not old fashioned, there are contemporary touches keeping it well & truly in the 21st century while retaining an English country house feel. As for cost, while it's not cheap the price is comparable with other high end hotels in Bath, whilst in our experience the "experience" is so much more… Our stay was fabulous and it was like experiencing a different world. We will definitely be going back and would highly recommend.

May 2019

“Another wonderful experience”

Another wonderful experience at the RCH. Stepping through the door is like stepping into another (better) world.

The staff were warm and attentive, providing the level of service you would expect from a hotel of this calibre, whilst being genuinely unstuffy and interested in their guests.

Our room was beyond all expectations, with stunning views of the gardens.

An ideal stay. I can't wait to visit again.

May 2019

How lovely this hotel is. The gardens are wonderful. The rooms wonderful too. The staff, professional and friendly. The dining room - wonderful! We also booked a couples massage, and I had one of the best massages I've ever had, and I've had a few, around the world. Just loved this place.

April 2019

“Loved, loved, loved!”

My husband and I stayed 2 wonderful nights at this wonderful hotel. We loved everything about our stay at the hotel. The hotel occupies the middle 2 townhouses in the historic Royal Crescent which is amazing. The grounds of the hotel are stunning and the interior is equally well appointed. It’s amazing to stay in this property which is a (I hope I get this right) UNESCO World Heritage designated property and, as the general manager told us, the only one you can stay in. How amazing is that?!

The staff at the hotel are very attentive and will get you whatever you need. We hadn’t made any dinner reservations and the concierge, Martin, made us last minute reservations for the 2 nights we were there. One night he booked us at a pub, The Chequers, and another night at a restaurant, The Circus Restaurant. Both places were amazingly delicious!

The hotel offers full high tea service and we had that one afternoon. Not only was everything delicious, it was very filling and definitely worth getting. The breakfasts every morning were really good and offered selections from the menu as well as some limited buffet items like yoghurt, fruit, home made granola, bread, and cheese and meats.

As I mentioned before, all the staff were super attentive. Our last morning at breakfast, the general manger stopped at our table and talked to us for a few minutes about the hotel and the improvements that had been done. We loved the chance to get more information about this incredible, historic property. My husband and I loved our stay and would not hesitate to stay again.

April 2019

“An oasis of calm”

Top class piece of heaven in the centre of Bath. Beautiful surroundings and staff who are attentive friendly and un-stuffy. Restaurant a la carte simply delicious and excellent cocktails. Go on! Treat yourself and your love to something special!

April 2019

“Soul restoring”

Although we only spent one night here, our spirits were replenished such that it felt like a week. This hotel lived up to our expectations - indeed, exceeded them. The staff were friendly and helpful, the harmony of its Georgian architecture was preserved, every detail was thoughtful and a delight, and the food delicious. We enjoyed a Heritage room right in the centre overlooking the green space of the Crescent. It was quiet and peaceful, with beautiful afternoon sun streaming in. We had the *best* champagne cocktails at the bar, followed by an exceptionally delicious meal at the hotel's restaurant. The spa was a little on the crowded side (being rather small) but we were still able to enjoy a few laps in the pool. The garden was a decent size with blackbirds entertaining us. Breakfast delicious and substantial. We would highly recommend and shall definitely be returning.

April 2019

"The Royal Crescent is a 6 Star hotel!"

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The concierge team, reception and every single member of staff were professional, polite and helpful. Taxis were arranged, feather pillows provided all without any fuss. Simple the best!

March 2019

"Better than The Ritz!"

I had a wonderful treat at The Royal Crescent Spa and Restaurant today. Fantastic massage from Ellie, supremely relaxing spa followed by the best gluten free afternoon tea I’ve ever had! I was at The Ritz last November and it was tonnes better at The Royal Crescent.

March 2019

"It was always a pleasure – and so relaxing to return to the hotel"

Dear Jonathan.

Please do let your staff know that they really made my stay at the Royal Crescent a truly memorable experience.

They are all first class professionals – so the hotel is not just comfortable and elegant – it is really comforting knowing that the staff are so helpful and willing to assist in everything.

We had three quite long and at times ( because of the weather) quite difficult days filming – but it was always a pleasure – and so relaxing to return to the hotel.

So thanks to them – and you – for your hospitality.

March 2019

"A real gem"

Weekend break in this beautiful hotel where nothing is too much trouble, the staff are all so friendly. We had a lovely room overlooking the gardens, so peaceful and the bed was divine, even provided a sleep spray beside the bed and for someone who struggles to sleep it was very thoughtful. Only downside was the bathroom with the shower being over the bath, my husband is very tall and struggled to get under it!
Breakfast was fantastic, so much choice of food and wonderful coffee.
Used the spa both days and after lots of walking it was very welcome. On checking out the car was brought right outside for us and door held open for me, something I’m not accustomed too but just topped off a fabulous weekend.

March 2019

"Afternoon tea with Champagne"

My wife and I were treated by our daughters to an afternoon tea with champagne at this super hotel. The quality of the food was superb and the service from the staff was excellent. We had additional sandwiches and scones. The scones were magnificent. You could also have as much tea/coffee that you could manage. We will definitely go back again

March 2019

This is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful location but it truly is the service here that sets the bar for everywhere else.
The attention to detail is phenomenal and the staff can’t do enough for you! Jonathan and his team have it just right! This place will take some serious beating!
The Spa is beautiful and the couples massage we had with Antonella and Lucy was just the best!
We can’t wait to come back...see you soon!

March 2019

"21st birthday celebrations"

This is the 4th time I have been here since last May. In all cases I have come away feeling sufficiently pampered and looked after and raring to book another visit. The hotel is beautiful. It is impressive and it is sumptuous. It is a lovely place to be. The gardens, even at this time of year are beautifully maintained. Our rooms were, as always, spotless and comfortable; each room is uniquely decorated- none of this modern uniformity - and well maintained. The staff are polite and helpful without being obsequious or snotty and this was particularly important this time around as we brought our two daughters for their 21st birthdays. We didn't want them to feel intimidated in any way and they weren't- ripped jeans apparently being acceptable clothing - so they relaxed into being looked after and catered for. The breakfast is divine with lots to choose from the buffet and cooked menu. Lunch is not necessary after a breakfast here. We didn't have dinner in The Dower House this time but we have before and it is to be recommended. Bath itself is a beautiful city and the hotel is well placed- stunning views and a 10 minute walk into town.  Really I can't recommend this hotel enough- the fact that I keep coming back says it all.  Only tweak I would recommend? The spa is great- had a wonderful massage - and the pool is tranquil, but there just isn't enough seating. More than three of you and there is nowhere to relax. Given its position and views, a designated relaxing area would make this spa perfect.

February 2019

"February break"

A fabulous break in this stunning hotel. Elegant decor, charming and helpful staff throughout. We have stayed in this hotel several times in the past 12 years and it never fails to please. Looking forward to another visit later in the year.

February 2019

"Fabulous spa"

I booked a muscle melt treatment after a day of hard meetings and Charlotte my lovely therapist literally knocked 2 years at least off my shoulders! I had such a lovely time in the pool, sauna and steam room. The facilities are kept spotlessly clean and after walking through the hotel I know I want to stay here soon

February 2019

"Second wonderful stay"

Stayed at the beautiful Royal Crescent for the second time in February 2019. Everything was just as good as the first time and there really is little to fault here - perfect setting, attentive and courteous staff and impeccable service.  We enjoyed a fabulous afternoon tea, both the service and the food was perfect. Staff kindly boxed up the items we couldn't manage for us to take away. Our room overlooked the gardens which is a great view to have, I'm not sure how many times I said it's so amazing that this is all tucked away behind the hotel! The pool area is great and we used that on both evenings, with only a few other people using it at the same time. It is a very tranquil and serene space and I could happily spend a couple of hours relaxing there. Some lovely choices for breakfast, both from the buffet and menu. We didn't eat in the restaurant this time but did have room service which arrived really quickly. My only tiny complaint and it is tiny, is that staff were a little slow in taking our order for cooked items on the second morning (but it really wasn't a hardship!) We have visited Bath to see family 5 times over the past year and The Royal Crescent is my number one place to stay, hands down. We will be back, thank you for your amazing service.

February 2019

"60th Birthday treat"

Booked a few weeks ago had a great deal and as my husband was celebrating his 60th Birthday could not resist booking! So glad I did with valet parking a warm welcome and great service could not have been better! Beautiful room over the Spa just a few rooms in this part of the building very private and special. The service was impeccable and breakfast this morning we were so well catered for. Need to return hopefully for my Birthday worth every penny

February 2019

"Absolute bliss"

Amazing place, I loved it so much the history of the place is fascinating. Was made to feel very special by all the staff, the room was beautiful and the bed was to die for with its luxury bed linen. The breakfast service was excellent with very tasty food, overall this was a hotel that will be very hard to beat. They really couldn’t have done more.

February 2019

We had a three night stay at this wonderful hotel. The staff were so polite and attentive to your requests. The Spa was small but relaxing. We didn’t have any treatments but enjoyed the Spa facilities on a couple of occasions. Our room was spacious and clean. The option of pillows was great as well. In fact a wonderful break with fantastic staff and superb food. It was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in the UK. Some can be so pretentious but not Royal Crescent. It was luxurious and relaxing. Thank you it was just what we needed.

"The Most Beautiful Mini-Moon!!"

What a treat!! We chose to stay at the Royal Crescent for our mini moon very recently and it was perfect!! From the moment we arrived until departure the staff were so kind and attentive. We were welcomed to our room to find we had only been upgraded!! and received complementary champagne & chocolates!! Can't thank all the staff enough for making our mini moon so relaxing & special. Will definitely be coming back, everything from décor, food, Spa, cleanliness and service was 5* - would definitely recommend! The location of this hotel is truly wonderful too.

- January 2019

"Thank You"

My parents stayed as one of things my father wanted to do before he leaves us due to illness and you have all made him feel so welcome. He had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the service, food and room. Thank you once again for helping fulfil his wish.

- January 2019

"One For The Bucket List"

Several years ago a snooty waiter in Bath wouldn’t serve us coffee unless we bought lunch which we didn’t want. We walked out and went up the road to the Royal Crescent Hotel and were welcomed with open arms. We’ve been back several times since, graduating from coffee to lunch and now staying there. It’s been worth the wait. Mid week off peak (January is our favourite month for visiting Bath as much fewer tourists) they do a 2 nights for 1 deal on suites. The photos below are better than a thousand words - utterly magnificent, a perfect pied a terre from which to explore this wonderful city. Leaving the suite is a wrench - but persevere because the public areas and spa (nice sized pool) are also wonderful. To get the suite deal you need to dine one night in the Dower House restaurant. Not exactly a hardship - linger over an aperitif in the luxurious bar area before making a grand entrance into this lovely room. Food and wine are delicious. Service unrushed. Last but not least the staff are wonderful - attentive, courteous and friendly, in keeping with the ambience of this wonderful hotel. Bucket list items are usually only done once but I think sometimes you have to make exceptions!

"Last Minute"

We were due to fly to Athens for a four day break but our flight was cancelled when we were moments from the airport so instead of going home we looked online quickly and booked into the Royal Crescent Hotel. We simply couldn't have chosen better! From the moment we arrived everything was perfect; the hotel itself is beautiful in an amazing location, every single member of staff is friendly, polite, cheerful and go above and beyond to make guests feel special. Our room was delightful, complimentary coffee on a cold day and delicious home made biscuits very welcome. We felt like VIPs for every minute of our stay. Will definitely return.

"Excellence in Luxury"

I booked this hotel as a surprise weekend away for my girlfriend as a proposal weekend.

The moment I pulled up and the free valet parking made us feel so important. We stayed in a suite and it was beautiful. I do not have enough superlatives for this hotel. The service is exemplary and the building itself is magnificent!

It is expensive but worth every penny.

"Wonderful Weekend away in Bath"

We had a three night stay at this wonderful hotel. The staff were so polite and attentive to your requests. The Spa was small but relaxing. We didn’t have any treatments but enjoyed the Spa facilities on a couple of occasions. Our room was spacious and clean. The option of pillows was great as well. In fact a wonderful break with fantastic staff and superb food. It was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in the UK. Some can be so pretentious but not Royal Crescent. It was luxurious and relaxing. Thank you it was just what we needed.

"Perfect Christmas Retreat"

Spent a fabulous night in this iconic hotel. When checking in we where asked to sit in the drawing room. This had a wonderful open fire and a very grand Christmas tree.
Our room was amazing with a very comfy bed. Had a fabulous nights sleep and the hotel was so quite. Breakfast was included in our room price and again this could not be faulted.
Before we left we made use of the spa. What a lovely place to spend s couple of hours relaxing. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Bath. It is only a 10 min walk in to the centre of town. All the staff are a credit to the hotel.

"Wonderful Hotel with Incredible Service"

We stayed for two nights in the Jane Austen room. This was a beautiful, tasteful bedroom with what felt like a very lovely conservatory room where we could sit, write and watch television (if we didn't want to watch television in the bedroom). It was spotless, comfortable and very well maintained.

We ate lunch in the bar, had dinner in the Dower House restaurant, afternoon tea and breakfasts over the course of our weekend and all of the food was beautifully presented, delicious and well served.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left nothing felt like it was too much trouble for the staff. We would particularly like to mention the young lady serving lunch in the bar on Saturday, the young waiter who took us through our dinner on Saturday night but it is almost wrong to pick anyone out.

Even in miserable rain this was a wonderful stay and I cannot wait until we are back at the hotel.

Memorable Afternoon Tea for my Mum's Birthday

The afternoon tea, and the whole experience in general, was so wonderful that we have decided we must make this celebration an annual event. My mum is disabled and she doesn't get out much, so this was a real treat. The staff were very kind and the food was outstanding. The best afternoon tea of my life.

"Georgian Grandeur..."

The location of the hotel could not have been better, however our stay was particularly memorable by the staff, who without exception had a “can do” attitude and who went out of their way to make sure that we felt really valued. Recommended.

"Perfect. As simple as that."

Every aspect of this stay, from planning, to discussing rooms, to checking out, was absolutely perfect. The room was beautiful, airy and full of light, the spa was wonderful, the staff were unfailingly attentive, polite and friendly, and there is a clear sense of commitment to the highest possible standards of care for the guests. The breakfast was also absolutely out of this world. This is a truly superb hotel by any standard, and we had an unforgettable stay.

"Superb Afternoon Tea"

We had a gift voucher for Afternoon Tea at the Crescent. Have been there before for a wedding reception so rather thought it would be special. Lovely selection of teas. Try the rooibos with orange and cream. Choice of either sweet or savoury treats. The bath buns with cinnamon butter were the highlight. Beautiful room and friendly service.

"Worth Six Stars!"

This hotel is faultless. You pay a great deal - but it is worth every penny. The Service is the key feature. Top class staff making you feel right at home with unobtrusive service. Restaurant food - breakfast and dinner- absolutely outstanding. Great location.

Had not stayed before, looking forward to going back!

A truly lovely hotel in a beautiful setting and just minutes from the city centre. The management team were second to none and this cascaded down to the rest of the team. The General Manager was even around at breakfast time ensuring that everything was running smoothly and that everyone was happy. The food was consistently excellent.

Room Tip: Garen or Royal Crescent View. The Garden is quiet and pretty but for the sense of history, a Crescent view room would be better.

-July 2018

We booked two rooms for our daughter's recent graduation and we were treated to 24-hours of impeccable service. The hotel made every effort to accommodate our needs (It is worth communicating clearly in advance if you have any special requests or questions) and we had two lovely rooms. For sure, the bathroom in our room, shower only as requested was on the small side but you need to remember that these period properties were never built with bathrooms in mind. plus having the only room in the entire crescent with a 1st floor arched window more than made up for this. The view was spectacular.

Drinks and breakfast in the garden is a real pleasure, a haven from the world outside. We had a really good evening meal at The Dower House Restaurant as well.

The Spa is simple and tastefully done, it has one of the nicest pools I have ever used. Vitality Pool, Steam and Sauna also in the same area. All inclusive for guests.

Overall, however, it was the helpfulness an friendliness of the staff that made the difference. From a warm welcome, effortless check-in and knowledgeable restaurant team, the whole visit was made by their positive, friendly but not overly obsequious attitude. Even the Gardner was congratulating my daughter on her degree.

Only issue? We didn't want to leave

We came to relax in Bath. Never expected to spend so much time at the hotel. Room was large with an amazingly comfortable king size bed. Food, drink, staff, and gardens all wonderful. You think it’s only the front on the Crescent but it opens up to an oasis. Martin, at the front, was amazingly helpful.

"Just returned home from an absolutely amazing time at this Gem of a Hotel. The Staff were so friendly and could not do enough for us, and our suite was spotless and luxurious. We also dined at The Dower House Restaurant was a lovely experience"

"All the staff we encountered during our stay made a good weekend great, nothing was too much trouble. The depth of knowledge regarding some of the drinks I bought was really phenomenal, the local knowledge imparted to me was fantastic as was the guy who tuned the television set so that we could watch the rugby! Thank you all once again."

"The Royal Crescent Hotel is one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Food was superb, our suite was enormous and charming. Service was perfect. I had afternoon tea there and it was the best I’ve ever had."
