ROYAL CRESCENT CELEBRATES BEING THE FIRST EVER
RELAIS & CHÂTEAUX HOTEL IN BATH
1 January 2008: The von Essen collection of hotels has exceptional cause for celebration this month as it becomes the largest owner of private hotels to be represented in the Relais & Châteaux luxury portfolio, following the acceptance of The Royal Crescent from January 2008.
In addition to being the first city of Bath property to be featured, The Royal Crescent Hotel, situated in the heart of historical Bath, marks the seventh luxury von Essen hotel to become a member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux family.
Situated in what is reputed to be ‘the world’s finest crescent’, The Royal Crescent Hotel occupies the two central Grade I listed buildings and fronts a myriad of secret gardens, leading to relaxing bedrooms and exquisite suites. The original coach houses are now occupied by individual bedrooms, suites, ‘The Bath House’ spa and a gourmet restaurant. The hotel’s stunning setting, gracious style and magnificent architecture have remained unchanged since the 18th century and hark back to the time of Bath’s extravagant luxury and exemplary refinement wholeheartedly fulfilling Relais & Châteaux’s strict quality standards based on the Association’s founding values, defined by the 5Cs: ''Courtesy, Charm, Character, Calm, Cuisine''.
The Royal Crescent follows in the footsteps of Lower Slaughter Manor and Château de Bagnols who were accepted into the Relais & Châteaux portfolio in November 2007. Other von Essen properties within the Relais & Châteaux group include Amberley Castle, Sharrow Bay, Buckland Manor and Ynyshir Hall.
