The New Bath House

by Spa Manager Anette Hall

Welcome to the newly regenerated
The Spa &  Bath House

After a six-week renovation programme earlier this year, our ever popular Bath House has been transformed into the most stunning haven of tranquillity and now offers great modern facilities to all of our members, day spa guests and residents alike. It has been so wonderful to see the plans that we have been displaying on Foamex boards for months actually come to life before our eyes.

The feeling of space and light, the gleaming new tiles in the pool, the freshly painted woodwork…….we simply cannot wait to see everyone’s reactions to this amazing new facility in the months to come.

Whilst the builders were busy working on our stunning new facility, we took the view that it was an excellent opportunity for our therapists to utilise their time and enjoy some exciting new training. The Made for Life Foundation came to the hotel to work with the team here to train them in suitable treatments for cancer patients. The trainers that visited, have worked closely with oncologists and Macmillan nurses to design treatments to allow those going through chemotherapy and other such cancer treatments the opportunity to enjoy a massage that will not contraindicate medical procedures. Without exception, each and every therapist said that the training they received from the Made for Life Foundation was so rewarding and inspirational. There can be an understandable anxiety from therapists when giving a treatment to a guest living with cancer but they learnt that they had nothing to fear. The therapists feel empowered and full of confidence and eager to use their skills. We are hoping to launch this treatment soon and with the fundraising in full swing for our new local cancer unit, the timing couldn’t be better.

Looking ahead to the summer, we are looking forward to the warmer weather so that our Spa & Bath House guests can enjoy again the seclusion of The Taittinger Spa Garden that we launched in the summer of last year. The planting is starting to flourish and we are anticipating another glorious display of rambling, scented white and pink roses, the sight of them last year was stunning. The garden is a perfect relaxation area for our day retreat guests to enjoy either a delicious lunch or a choice of one of our famous afternoon teas with a glass of Taittinger champagne.

We look forward to seeing you soon
