At The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa we take pride in our valuable heritage and location in the centre of Bath. As an iconic Grade 1 listed building, we continuously strive to ensure the most accessible welcome to all of our guests.
All desks in our public rooms, including concierge and reception, are at a height convenient to all guests. Seating is continuously being adjusted to suit the needs of the different spaces. The flooring is level throughout, with carpet, stone and parquet surfaces separated by widened doorways. Hallways and passages are wide enough to accommodate most wheelchairs.
Pets are welcome in most areas, with seeing guide dogs allowed into the restaurant. Our spa cannot welcome animals, but has a ramp to the changing rooms and pool areas, including the sauna and steam room.
Below, we provide further details of our accessible services:
The hotel does not currently offer a wide variety of accessible rooms. We encourage wheelchair users to consider Beau Nash, a deluxe suite, on the ground floor of our pavilion. The suite offers a feeling of openness and space and benefits from a private conservatory opening directly onto the garden without steps. Inside, the room is all on a level, except for a small step into the shower.
We are taking steps to improve the number of rooms with accessible features. Our reservations team will always offer you the best available rate and advise on the suitability of your chosen room.
Please contact us on 01225 823333 to discuss your individual requirements.
The hotel’s main entrance is situated on the Royal Crescent, a private road with no through traffic.
Directions to the hotel can be found by clicking here.
We are privileged to be able to offer a valet parking service for guests arriving by car. With staff available to assist 24 hours a day, we are delighted to place dedicated ramps over the few steps when necessary:
We have individuals trained to understand accessibility needs. In addition to this any one of our dedicated members of staff are also available to help you in any way they can.
The Dower House Restaurant and our Montagu Bar are located on the ground floor of the Dower House building, with the surface being level throughout. We offer a dedicated ramp for the step into the garden from the restaurant. The flooring throughout the Dower House building is a combination of marble, stone, tile and carpet with an open plan layout. There is also an accessible restroom available.
Our restaurant staff are available throughout the day to assist guests with any requests they may have. Our kitchen team also able to cater for a variety of dietary needs with sufficient notice.
Reception ensures that each guest with specific needs is welcomed on arrival with a personal emergency plan, including what to expect if the hotel is evacuated. Our fire system ensures that a loud siren sounds. It is our intention to effectively notify every individual guest, and our Duty Manager is tasked with ensuring the evacuation of guests with mobility difficulties.
We continue to improve our service standards, and ask that if you require any information, or for general feedback on our statement, please contact the hotel directly.
