The Bath Good Food Awards recognise the best restaurants in over 20 categories including Best Chef, Best Bath Institution, Best Restaurant, Best Wine List, Best Vegetarian; to name a few. They also seek out the best producers from the region with awards in the following categories: Best Cheese, Best Charcuterie, Best Preserves, Best Bakery, Best Cup Cake / Confectionery, Best Alcoholic / Best Non Alcoholic beverage, Best Contribution to Sustainability, Best Fruit & Veg and the ‘One to Watch’.
Each nominated establishment has been suggested by its own customers, the people of Bath. In 2012 over 5000 nominations were received, the restaurants and producers with the most votes went through to the judging stage.
Their panel of judges which included Fiona Beckett (food & wine columnist The Guardian), Richard Bertinet (celebrity chef), Angela Mount (renowned wine Critic) visited each restaurant as mystery diners with the winners announced at a Gala Awards Dinner held at the Guildhall in Bath.
At the Good Food Awards in Bath the team at The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa were thrilled to receive 2 prestigious awards for Best Sommelier and Most Romantic Table.
